Retail Vendors:
We only use hand-crafted, unique, artistic, or event-themed vendors. Preference is given to Smithfield or Isle of Wight County based businesses, but not a requirement. We do not offer commercial "informational" vendor space, we only use retail vendors who have qualifying items to sell to our attendees. Retail Vendors are invited to participate in a specific event and are selected from vendors that have pre-qualified to be on our Approved Vendor List. For the spring Wine & Brew Fest and the fall Bacon & Bourbon Fest, we invite approximately (6) retail vendors to participate in each festival. We do not use any retail vendors at the January BOB Fest. Prior to being invited for a specific festival, you must submit info and qualify to be placed on our Approved Vendor List. Our Retail Coordinator reviews and makes vendor selections and invites you to participate. You confirm your participation by returning event application and vendor fee. Vendors pay a flat fee, ($300) that includes the fest providing a 10x10 tent. We do not let you set up your own tent. For an additional fee you can order tables or chairs. There is not a percentage of sales collected, however if you are so inclined, we encourage you to donate an item for our auction events, or you are welcome to make an additional donation to Smithfield VA Events either when you submit your application, by mailing it in or giving it to our Retail Vendor Coordinator before you leave the festival. Click below to review selection process and basic rules for festivals. If you feel you qualify and want to be considered for future festivals, please take the required steps listed in the retail selection process to apply. Vendors who clearly do not qualify or submit complete information will not be considered. Note: just because you are on the Approved List does not guarantee that you will receive an invitation.
If you receive an invitation for a specific festival, you will be contacted and emailed an application form and your form & booth fees will be due by the deadline. If you do not return by deadline, your invitation will expire and we will select another vendor. Email your vendor information for consideration to: Food Vendors:
We do use a couple food vendors at our festivals, but give preference and invite our brick & mortar Smithfield based businesses and our local non-profits who do food vending first. If you would like to still email us your info feel free to, but historically, we do not accept new vendors. |
Bands
Please review info on each festival below and if interested please email us the following: 1) Band Name, Contact Person & Phone. 2) Brief description of type of music and number of members. Do you only perform orginial music or do you play covers? 3) Links to website, videos, or social media pages. 4) List of other festival/events played and info about upcoming bookings. We often come see a band before we hire. 5) Estimate Fee: (see info below about who provides sound & hours for specific Fests) If your band offers multiple options to perform as a solo artist, duo or a band with multiple members, let us know that as well. Provide fee estimate for:
Spring Wine/Brew or Fall Bacon/Bourbon: We have (2) large stages and (1) small stage on the steps of the Manor House and usually book two bands on each stage for these events. Sound on the large stages is provided by Craftworks Sound. For the large stages, we are looking for bands that have professional crowd interaction and can put on show that folks will hit the dance floor! For the Manor House stage we need bands with 1-2 performers and we can talk about using your own the sound equipment or whether it will be provided by Craftworks. For January BOB Fest: - Single Band for entire event This event requires a GREAT HIGH ENERGY SHOW BAND. This event is held inside a huge heated party tent and the crowd is looking for a show that will keep them on their feet from the first song until the last. For BOB Fest, the Band will need to provide sound & lights. VA Breweries
(for April Wine & Brew Fest or October Bacon & Bourbon) We currently use breweries distributed by Hoffman Beverage or that are brick & mortar businesses located in the Town of Smithfield. Our site has limited access and working with multiple independent breweries is not feasible. Have questions? Email us at: Bourbon:
(For Bacon & Bourbon Fest only) We LOVE It when Bourbon Experts or VA Distilleries come to rep their brands at our festival. We are required to purchase all bourbons used at our festival from the VA ABC Stores or from a VA Distillery with an ABC permit. We only have bourbons and a few whiskeys at our festival. We are NOT a FULL SPIRIT Event and we do not permit sales of bottles at our festival, only tastings. Interested? Email us: |
