Corporate Voluteerism:

How cool would it be to see your employees in their business-branded shirts working behind the scenes at the coolest festivals in Coastal Virginia?

Many business participate in social responsibility and encourage their employees to volunteer or some have internal corporate foundations that benefit the community. This is a fairly new program for us, but it is proving to be a win/win for everyone!

There are a couple ways to volunteer as a business partner:

  • Your employees can pick a non-profit and volunteer on their behalf. The hours your employee group work will be totaled up and a donation made to the organization they selected to support.

  • If you have a corporate foundation that benefits the community, your employees can work on behalf of it and then the donation would go to your foundation to support it's mission.

It's pretty easy! We do all the heavy-lifting and your business gets involved in supporting us thru volunteerism.

How it works:
Get started by sending our Volunteer Coordinator an email at [email protected]
Email Vol Coordinator
Businesses that want to volunteer on behalf of a charitable cause or that have a non-profit foundation or initiative that they want to raise money for their cause need to  pre-register and provide us a Group Leader. Your Group Leader works with our Volunteer Coordinator well in advance of a festival to coordinate your groups spots.

Group leaders are responsible for passing along info & getting your employees signed up by the deadline. They need to have general knowledge of what the jobs are for your group's assigned spots and ensuring that the folks signing up are able to perform the jobs they sign up for.
We will train & work with new Group Leaders to ensure you understand how it all works and the jobs that are assigned to your group.

When is it time for a festival, your business is assigned jobs or "spots" to fill.  We use a on-line program call SIGNUP to manage actually signing up for a specific job  There is a deadline to sign up and if you don't fill all your spots, they are given to other groups. Once you know sign-ups are "live" you can go sign up anytime.

To sign up for your spot, you visit our VOLUNTEER PAGE and click on the SIGNUP logo and find your organization. View the spots that are assigned. Pick what you want to sign up. The program will send you a confirmation email and a reminder email. When you come work your shift, you will sign in/out on your org's sign-in sheet.

After an event is over, the hours worked by your group are totaled and we make a donation on behalf of your business, usually about $10-$12 per hour depending on the financial success of the festival.

Most jobs are during a festival but there are some that happen pre & post festival and then early in the morning on fest day, (LIKE COOKING BACON, or putting out Tableclothes...) Some organizations work a specific task, like the gate, while others have a variety of jobs that might be beer pouring, logistics, checkpoints, bacon cooking, bourbon pouring, wine tent, t-shirt sales, trash, volunteer check in, food serving, cooking oysters, or taking care of our sponsors.
